Castor Oil

So last night I was contemplating castor oil. After reading a number of articles and a call from Doc Justin, we've decided all the other methods will have to work. The side effects of that monster sound not so good. I'm willing to take one for the team, but Mr. Ward isn't so keen on it. Hmmmm... I walked around the house last night like a mad woman. This is my last chance to get her here before Christmas. I think she's comfty and not wanting to budge. As my Aunt told me yesterday... its always the difficult ones that turn out to be the most beautiful and intelligent. =)
What else is going on here? Well my mom is in town. She's at my sister's till tonight and then over to our house. Woohoo... One of Craig's best friends is also coming to town tonight to stay with us. Its our annual trip from Uncle Avi. Should be fun. He's fired up that Sydney could come while he's here. Would be fun, but its the always the difficult ones =) What else? I'm headed back to JC tomorrow for a department party. Should be fun. I was hoping to not be able to go, but nothing seems to be working as planned these days. Okay, well ist 3:15 and I should try and get some more sleep before you know who gets mad. He's so funny these days. I swear, if he takes one more picture of me... =) Now we know where Syd's getting the crazy genes... both of us!!

Ciao for now!
Okay, so I'm sort of having cabin fever. Its only been 3 days, I know, but 3 days of rain and napping is sort of driving me crazy. I just want Sydney to be here already. Today would be a good day =) I think it would be a little easier if I could go out and walk and be productive in trying to get here to come out, but I'm stuck in the house. I went out to Target and Home Depot, but then I'm done and back at home... uggg... Okay, i'm going to walk around the house a little more. Happy Rainy Day!!!

Rain drops falling on my head

I love the rain! Its weird playing hooky and relaxing in the rain. Its the day I always dream of. Just wish my hubs was here with me.

Happy Rain Day!

Count Down

So I know I initially said I wouldn't use this to only talk about babies and motherhood, and I still intend to keep that promise. But it is a big part of my life right now, so I will be talking about it, just not all the time =)

First... its 5:00 in the morning and I'm once again up and can't sleep. I hear my sleep will be even less in a short time, but its just so hard at this point to go back to sleep once I'm awake. The last couple of days have been so weird. Technically, we are almost at 38 weeks, so normally I guess folks wouldn't be worried for another couple of weeks. But of course Sydney sets herself apart and confuses me. At the last dr.'s appointment they were saying that she's measuring big and the date that comes out of the machine is 38 weeks. That was 2 weeks ago. That of course would put me at 40 weeks this week. So we're thinking any day. We're hoping any day. They have scheduled me for the 23rd. I had my "bummed" day about it when I heard. But really, it was only selfish reasons why I was bummed that they picked that day. We'd be in the hospital over Christmas, which is a bummer. Sydney's birthday would be 2 days before Christmas, bummer. She would be a Capricorn and not a Sagitarius, bummer(sorry Capricorn friends). And some of my close friends will be out of town, bummer. But really I'm just being selfish. I'm looking at all the bad things. The things that I should be concentrating on are that her lungs will be fully developed. She's going to be a healthy baby girl. And God bless those people and especially friends that are trying to get pregnant and aren't having any luck. I would think they would love to be in my position right now. I'm very thankful for my life and I'm just thankful that she's coming out soon.
With that being said... Don't think I'm not doing all I can to have this girl naturally in the next couple of days. =) I've been dancing, walking, eating spicy foods and all the things they say brings on labor. Of course, when you look them up, they are all wise-tails, but heck, we're doing them.
It must be just that I'm so big at this point, but I think its funny that everyone seems to think that the only thing I like to talk about is pregnancy and being pregnant and having babies. It must be because I'm so close, but I think its funny. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Alright, I think I'm going to try and shut my eyes for another couple of hours.
Tomorrow is my first day of not working. I'm sure it will be a trip. Its such a weird thing to comprehend. Well I'll let you know when Syd makes her appearance.
Ciao for now!

Please

Please pray for Sydney! We need all the positive energy we can get.

Love,
Alli

Dear Friend

I know, I know... its been so long. I have been vowing to write, but it just hasn't been happening lately. Well as most know I'm into my 7th month and starting my last trimester. I came down with a cold a few weeks back that shot me down for a while. I'm feeling much better now, which is good! So I'm back on here writing about my crazy adventures. Don't let me forget to write about how I totally got kissed in the elevator at Adam's birthday. Its a great story, but I'll wait till the end.

So what else is going on in the world of Alli. Well besides the whole baby thing, in typically Alli and Craig style, spreading ourselves thin. Last week was the craziest its been in quite a while. I worked till midnight two nights gearing up for a presentation on Friday. I had book club at my house on Wednesday night, which is fun, but it was hard knowing that I had to work on my presentation after everyone had left. We had Josh's going away party on Friday which lasted till about 2:30. Then Saturday was the doozy of them all. We woke up and had Hayden's 4th birthday in Oceanside. At the same time was Amanda's 30th birthday wine tasting. All the while Josh's dad was flying in and Craig wanted to spend the last day with his best buddy. So after Hayden's, I headed up to Temecula to meet the birthday girl for wine tasting. Craig headed home to meet up with Josh. We were working on a few hours sleep and still this dinner with Josh and his dad that night. We made it work, but were exhausted to say the least by the time Sunday rolled along.

It was hard saying good bye to Josh. Although I know that we will see him when we're back in Kansas, I am more sad for Craig. I know this sounds silly, but you know I'm always worried about my hubs. He is Craig's best friend and I know that its hard for C sometimes being out here when most of his close friends are back in the midwest. Craig had his sad moment too, but we're doing better now. We're excited for Josh. We're excited for him to start a career that he's excited about.

Anywho, other than that, I'm mostly just been working on the baby's room and bugging Shawna and Audrey and Jen about baby stuff. A girl at my work who is due 6 weeks before me gave birth a few days ago. That really freaked me out that she was 5 weeks early. It happens I guess. Amanda, Jen Flen and Steph are coming over on Saturday to help me stencil the walls. The room is definitely starting to come together which is exciting. I'll post some pics once we get it painted. Then Sunday is my UCLA shower. I'm super excited about that! I feel guilty having anyone buy us presents, but mostly just want to hang out with my friends. I miss my UCLA friends a lot. That would be the ONLY reason I would move back to LA is so I'm closer to them. Oh well, I'll settle for seeing them every couple months.

What else? So much to catch up on, but that is it for now. I promise to catch up in the coming weeks. So long for now.

Oh, happy thing that happened today? Got to talk with my Aunt Lynda. I love talking to her about any and everything.
Fun thing that happened today? Well it was my boss' birthday and he get so embarassed by all the girls he works with, so we decided to embarass him more. We made a huge sign on the way up the stairs in the morning, and we decorated his office and we made this huge card with a picture of him with an afro. It was pretty funny. At least embarassing him.

Ciao!

A day of no Labor

Labor day. I realized something yesterday that put everything into perspective. Three day weekends! Who doesn't love a three day weekend? Of course Craig and I sort of forgot it was coming until the day before, but regardless, one less day of work is always a good thing. I just want to know why there is so much pressure that last day of work. Its like they working you extra hard to make up for the day you are gone. Or reality is probably that at this level its me putting the pressure on myself. We're all going to be out. Its not like half of our business associates are working and we aren't. I just know that I stressed myself out so bad yesterday that by the time I had to leave to go to the doctors that I was almost in tears. Not a good thing! But, now that its here, I'm STOKED!!! Gooo Labor Day!!! I love the weekends when we don't have something planned every minute of every day, but we have things scattered throughout the weekend. It started out great yesterday and its getting better every minute. I'm off to yoga in a few, so I should probably wrap this up. I know the last two posting have been sort of abstract and I'm sorry. Just things I've been thinking. I will get back to the good stories shortly. Fun and Happy things that happened today???

Happy thing that happened today/this week. I felt the baby move. Everyone kept asking me if I had felt it and I was like... ummm... not sure. But its pretty apparent now. Plus she was moving when we were hearing her heart beat yesterday so that was also a happy thing. She's an active one!
Fun things that happened today/this week. My media buyer asked me if I was interested in attending the TV Guide Emmy party next month... UMMM, YES! Not sure if its a for sure thing, but if it is, its going to be so much fun!

Hope you have a great three day weekend. And remember next time, don't stress yourself out like I did leading up to a great long weekend. Its just not worth it!

Caddie

So anyone that says that animals don't have personalities, is crazy. Our dog has gotten funny in her old age. Yesterday I opened the front door allowing her to roam around the front yard or whatever. She spent, I'm not kidding you, almost two hours in this bush. This is not a very big bush, but she stomps around the bush, stuck her face in there, was determined something is in there. Well I finally get her to come back inside and she has maybe 4 huge cobwebs on her face and is so pumped about not getting whatever was in that damn bush. Anywho, I would say only in the last year have Craig and I at around 10 each night been like where's caddie and gone into our room to find her asleep on her pillow. We always joke and said, I guess it was past her bedtime. Anyways, last night I got home kind of late, and decided to watch a little tv before bed. Accidently fell asleep and woke up pretty much in the middle of the night. Caddie no where to be seen, so I shut everything off and was off to our room expecting to see her on her pillow. Oh no. She was dead center of our bed sprawled out. Every blue moon, I'll get home from work and sneak into our room and I would say maybe 1 out of 10 times she's on the bed. She typically sees me and freakout and jumps down with her tail between her legs and knows she isn't supposed to be on there. Well tonight I walk in there. I say...UMMMMM... and she opens her eyes, turns her head to me and then turns her head back and goes back to sleep. What a funny funny dog. While dad is away, all rules are apparently thrown out the window. Being the sucker I am, I just got into bed and pushed her over to Craig's side. I woke up this morning and low and behold the princess was still asleep on the bed. Oh well. There are worst things in the world!

Its a Girl!!!

I am so excited. We found out we're having a girl!!! I do have to say that I was certainly shocked when she said it, but now that its sinking in, its becoming more real. We had our appointment and Craig asks the technician if she knows what we're having and she says, "oh yeah, I know the gender." Oh I guess I should start with all the info. She took me in first and started the ultra sound and said she was taking all the baby's measurements. Why Craig couldn't be in there for that, I don't know. But so I asked her that I didn't want to see anything or for her to tell me anything untill Craig go in there. So it took about 20 minutes to do the measurements and then she said that it looks like the my due date is about right and that she shows it even a few days early. POOP... closer to Christmas! Oh well, what is meant to be, is meant to be. I will try my hardest baby to keep you in there till after the first of the year. =) Anyways, then she brings Craig back in the room and she starts showing us pictures. It is amazing how clear the pictures are. That is when Craig asked her if she knew what we are having. Of course, I'm already thinking we have a boy on our hands. Then when she says that she knows, I'm convinced. She moves down there and says... okay, there you go. And we both look, and don't seen anything and she says... you're having a girl! WHAT??? I did actually say, "I'm sorry, what?" hahahaha... We both made her say it again. "You have a little girl" Of course that is when we're both clench each other's hand and start tearing up and look at each other and say, its a girl! It was an amazing experience, that is for sure!
I can tell already that I'm in for it. I've always said that my kids aren't going to be able to pull one over on me(only because I've done it all), but this one is already throwing me for a loop.
Last night we went to target and "we" picked out her first outfit. I used the term "we" loosely because the hubs... the big softy, really picked it out. He was on a pink kick and me of all people had to get him to settle down on the pink. So we came to a compromise and got her this super cute sweat suit with pink pants and multi colored sweat top with a pink lady bug on it. She has her first outfit! =)
Well that is it for now. We have a big weekend upon us with Melissa's shower and Kate and Mike engagement. What a weekend of celebration. I'm so excited!

Ciao for now!

Today's the Day

Today is the day. I can't even sleep. We find out today at 11:00 whether our little peanut is a girl or a boy. eeeekkk... This is a surreal experience. I know people go through it all the time, but it is just so unbelievable to me. Yesterday, I asked some of my closest friends and family to write down their predictions along with a note. I really hope that they do it, so we have some good notes for the baby book. Its funny, my sister and brother in law have some money on the whole deal. So fun!! Craig and I both think we're having something different, so we made a little wager ourselves. Although, what I picked if I win, isn't super exciting. I get to have a cleaning lady in. He said, a one time cleaning for now and we'll talk about monthly. I would be fired up if we get to have her monthly. He of course has a golf round in mind. =) I love this because its all in good fun. We both would be so excited for whatever they tell us we're having. I definitely know that I will never forget this moment!! Okay, so I really should try and get some sleep. Big day and big weekend ahead of me.

Let the festivities begin

Last night we had 17 week appointment. We had heard earlier in the day that a couple that is due two days before us found out what they are having, so we sort of got our hopes up. The doctor had setup the appointment right when we found out we were pregnant for August 15th, so it was sort of assumed that we wouldn't find out anything earlier, but you never know. Anyhow, three more weeks.
Today starts the festivities of the weekend. Vanessa and Carlos' wedding is tomorrow. We have rehearsal tonight and dinner, then the big day tomorrow. Jamie and Valado fly in tomorrow and are staying at our house. Should be a good time.
I'm also excited because Katie and Mike got engaged this week. AND Kate got a teaching job. So big week for them as well. I love big weeks for friends!!! YAY!!!

Belize

Okay, so we're back from Belize and rested up! What a trip. We dubbed it the babymoon seeing as it may be the last international trip for a while. We had a great time. It didn't take very long to get there. We flew out of LA and it was 3 hours to Houston and then 2 more hours to Belize. We flew into Belizian City and immediately took a taxi to the harbor. From there we took a water taxi to San Pedro. San Pedro is a small town on the island of Ambergis Caye. It was warm and humid, but nothing unbearable. The water taxi took about an hour and a half but was really good to see some of the other islands along the way. Once we got to the island we took a taxi to our resort. Our resort was beautiful. It was very tropical and intimate. There were a bunch of bungalows of sorts and we totally got the best one in the place. We were right on the beach with a large deck looking out to the water with a nice hammock. Once we settled in, we immediately walked down the beach for a bite to eat. After that it was right into the water. We swam, and rested in the afternoon. We had heard about a couple bands in town that night so for dinner we walked maybe less than a quarter mile down the beach to a restaurant/bar called Road Kill. Probably not the best name for dinner, but the atmosphere was great. There we listened to some folksy music and ate Belizian BBQ. After dinner we walked across the street to Crazy Canuks and had a drink(well orange fanta for me) and listened to some Punta music. The group was a couple young kids maybe 16-18 and they were really good. It was more like reggae music. They were really good. One of the kids brought their baby pharrat which was funny because I pet it and it bit my finger. Of course it was just a baby, so it didn't hurt, but funny. We called it a night after that.
The next day we woke up and were off to the snorkling with Sharks and Sting rays. The guide was really good and was able to have Craig hold both a shark and a big sting ray. The great part of our resort is that it had a great dock which different tours we went on were able to pick us up straight from our dock. We rode bikes into town and hung out by the pool the rest of the afternoon. Right before sun down we walked up the road to a lagoon where we heard these kids feed crocodiles. It was insane, but they really do feed the crocodile with a whole chicken on the end of a rope. There was a group hanging around. I chose to stay as far back as possible, but Craig went in for a closer look. We walked back down into town and had dinner and called it early again.
The next day we slept in and spent the good part of the morning by the pool and relaxing, and at lunch we rented the golf cart and drove into town and to the north side of the island. We met a guy named James Brown earlier in the week and he had mentioned that he could help us book any tours we wanted to take, so we went to see James Bown about Cave Tubing/Mayan Ruin tour on the main land. We booked it for the following day and booked a Sunset cruise for that night. The sunset cruise was amazing. It was a Catamaran and there were only 6 of us on the cruise. It was a all you can drink boat that sailed out to the shark reef. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Wonderful trip! Once we got back to our resort we found out that they had to cancel the cave tubing for the next day, but the following day could do it.
We woke up the next morning and Craig talked to the resort peeps and were able to get us on a snorkling boat to Mexico Rocks. Our captain, Herman, from the sunset cruise picked us up and was our guide on this snorkle boat. We saw beautiful coral and fish. He also took us to the only known shipwreck in Belize. Craig dove all through it which was fun. We also saw a giant star fish on that excursion. During the afternoon we rode the bikes into town to have lunch and look at some souvenirs. Craig found a hat and I found a painting. The rest of the day was relaxing, napping.
The next morning was an early one. We were up and out the door by 6:30 and off to the airport. Along with 7 other people we took off for the mainland on an adventure. We flew into Belize City and piled in a van where our guide drove us to the Mayan Ruins of Xanatunich. It was about 2 hours away. There is only one road in and out of the town through Belize so our guide pointed out all kinds of landmarks, cities, history. We stopped in the town St. Ignacia which is right on the Guatemala border right before the ruins. We got some fruit from a stand and some munchies. We had another guide meet us at the ruins and take us through it. It was amazing and incredible how much is still not excavated because of lack of funding. After that, our main guide, Daniel, brought us a traditional Belizian lunch. We ate and chatted, and then were off to Cave Tubing. We pulled up to the tubing grounds and gathered our head lamps and tubes. I had it easy, Craig carried my tube the whole way up to the caves. It wasn't strenuous or anything, but it did start to rain a bit. When we first got there, the water was clear and blue. By the time we got to the top, the rain had started to darken the water. This was fine because we were spending most the time in a pitch dark cave. We got in the water and were on our way. We were in the cave for about 15 minutes in the pitch dark. We did have our head lamps but it was pretty crazy seeing all the stalagmites and stalactite. It was about 2 hour adventure. It was incredible. From there, we piled back in the van and headed back to the airport and back to San Pedro. It was our last night, or what we had thought was our last night in Belize, so we enjoyed a good dinner and had a good night sleep.
We packed up the next morning, and took the water taxi back to the mainland. We got to the airport with about an hour till we departed. Little did we know that 6 hours later, and no communication from the airline that our flight was cancelled. They ended up booking us on a flight the next morning and put us up in a "hotel." I actually think it was more of a Hostel run by a Chinese family. It was pretty ghetto, but we just wanted to get some dinner and go to bed. The best part about that place is that when I got into bed, we were greeted by a giant lizard. Craig, my hero, escorted our unwanted guest out the room and we laughed ourselves to sleep on the crazy day. The next day we got on the first flight out and were upgraded to first class which was fun. We got home Sunday night, just in time for work the next day! All in all a great trip!!!

Till next time!
Alli

Belizian Babymoon

We're back from Belize. I promise to update this with pictures and adventure stories soon. We're pretty wiped out.

Friday Night Fever

I apologize for the delay in postings. The Wards have had quite an interesting last couple of weeks. More to come on that soon!

It is Friday night and we just got back from Yale's performance. He was a puppy dog in the pre-school performance. So fun! It was really cute. He was hanging out with some other boys in his class after in the audience and it was incredible to see how big the other boys were. Yale might be a little smaller than others, but I'm sure he will grow in time. I have no idea what they were feeding these other boys, but they were almost as tall as me and they were 4. Yikes!!!

I've been dealing with a slight fever the last couple days, so I was glad to get a little nap in before heading over to the performance. Definitely helped! Okay, off to spend some time with the hubs!

Good things that happened today? Yale performance. The whole thing was really cute, and its fun to see Yale up there!
Fun things that happened today? Well it was yesterday, but its still fun. I got invited to attend the TV Land awards up in LA in June with a guest. I wonder who I should bring...hmmm... teheheh! We're fired up. Should be fun to get dressed up! Sounds like a perfect night to try out Craigin's restaurant!

Bonjour!

Hawk attack

Okay, so its not that big of a story, I guess I built it up more than it really deserved. Amanda, Jen Flen and I tried out this new sushi/sake house for dinner the other night. And we're waiting for one of 5 tables to sit down and guess who sitting right there! Tony Hawk! The hostest lady was very disorganized and didn't have the best rhyme or reason to seating people and so we were trying to "manuver" over to the table next to him. I mean, there are literally 5 tables in the whole place, there was a good chance. But so after some anticipation, it turned out that we were getting seated the furthest away from him. But I did get to sit in his chair and Jen took a picture! tehehehehe... My new BFF Tony!

The Bubs with Hubs

I can hardly believe that Craig and I have been together for 5 years now. Of course he remembers that stuff... which is just one of the reason I love him. For our "dating anniversary" he bought us tickets to Michael Buble. He knows how much I love him, and so we went to the concert Friday night. I took a lot of "slack" if you will, from friends and family going to this thing, but it was worth it. Friends at work were laughing saying that we would be not only the youngest but the only ones able to stand up and dance. This was pretty funny and kind of true. I mean there were a lot of different people there, but let's just let it be known that this was a lot different atmosphere then the last time we were at this venue to see Van Halen. =)

The group that opened for him was amazing. Their name is Naturally 7 They were incredible to see. Michael was awesome as well. We had a really great time and was one of the greatest concerts I've been to.

Yay for Bubs with Hubs!

What's your ideal size?

Mine is a toss up between a size motivated and a size skater... in honor of my new friend Tony Hawk!
Jenny Craig's new marketing campaign says "What's your ideal size." If you've seen any of the commercials, Valerie is currently a size surfer girl and Queen is a size healthier. Well so yesterday the boss and coworkers were talking about it and we were trying to determine our own sizes for each of the marketing peeps. After some back and forth and a ton of laughing, we came up with some funny sizes. Size "I care" was one, size motivated, size sexy was thrown out there, and then this morning after telling my story about my new friend Tony, I decided I'm a size skater! tehehehehe... story to follow

Where in the world is Alli Ward?

Something you may not know about me, but could probably guess especially with the title of my blog. I'm obsessed, I mean OBSESSED, with "Where in the World is Matt Lauer." I want to be him, I want to go with him, I think that would be a dream of a life time if I could go with him during his yearly 5 day estravaganza around the world. Hmmm... who do I know that can hook me up? I've got an idea. You know that documentary on how to win a date with Drew Barrymore? I think I should do a documentary on how I can become one of the staffers for Matt Lauer during his "Where in the world series." I will carry equipment, I will have Avi teach me lighting, oooohhh, site scouter! Well just thought you should know that I found my calling. Now, where do I start?

Unofficial Opening of Club-Dub

Today should be fun. Its the "unofficial" opening of club-dub. Its so hot out, that we had to open the pool for visitors a little earlier than we would have liked. I'm very excited because we are on our way to getting the patio paved and looking good. Craig, Josh and Chad worked wonders last weekend digging out the mulchy areas outside the back patio. My dad and uncle Ludie came over yesterday morning to work up a clear plan as to when and how we are going to pave those sections in. I mentioned to them that we really want to extend the patio also and it only took a few minutes of them talking for us to realize it is much more cost efficient if we did it all at once. So Craig and I started to dig that section out yesterday. We dug for a few hours before we ran our errands for the day. I already have two blisters on my hands. I do not know how those boys did it last time. We were talking our our plan yesterday evening and how we think we're going to hire some help this morning to help. Josh volunteered to help again, which is so nice. He definitely does not have to do that. But then with him talking to Craig, I guess the two of them, oh and me, are going to attempt to dig it all out this morning. I'm definitely going to have breakfast and coffee waiting for both of them. And I may even go get an extra something for JB for all his help.
So we will be digging, and we mentioned to a few folks that they are of course welcome to come to the unofficial opening of club-dub. I think we may have some takers, but I just would like to remind everyone that it looks kind of crazy, but by June, we should have it looking pretty good. Well I'm off to get some breakfast for the boys, and I hope to have some stories to tell after the unofficial opening

Gooey Tubes Galore

What a weekend... thus far!
Marriage is a funny thing. "We search and and we search to find a perfect wife" oh sorry, I was just singing a little Ball and Chain. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. Marriage is a funny thing. When you're looking for that special someone, you are out all the time, you are going to things that you think that you would never go to, in case your someone is there. Then you meet them. Ahhhhhh...
Your time is now spent trying to wooh the other one and surprise them with little presents, and plan fun spontaneous things. Although you become more and more comfortable with that person, you want to keep them on their toes with the "Ahhhh."
Then you get married! Then it becomes harder and harder to surprise your someone or maybe that you have so much more to do with work and house and families that you forget that you should still try and wooh the other one. As it says in the poem The Art of Marriage, "the courtship should not end with the honeymoon." Now, its just a matter of making that happen.
We've been instituting date night for some time. We aim for once a week, but it typically happens once a month. I'm sure once we have kids it will go even longer, but it doesn't hurt to try. Craig decided this week was his turn and came home Thursday night with a surprise. The following night we were going camping. My thoughts begin to churn, we haven't made reservations, I have packed anything, where are we going to put the dog, my parents are coming over early Saturday morning... All the things that this would effect. Then I stopped and turned to him and smiled, got excited and said, "Fun". He's obviously thought about these things too, right? He then tells me that we are going to camp in our back yard. YAY! I had told him once that we used to do this all the time growing up and I loved it. Knowing where he grew up, I can only imagine the camping action that happened on the lake.
When I got home Friday after having a lovely happy hour with Jen Flen, he was setting up the tent. I stopped on the way home and got the fixins for gooey tubes which are delightful. Not the Jenny way, but its all about portion control right? We had a really good night. How often do you get to camp when you can go in the jacuzzi when you want? Nice play Warp Speed... I'm going to have do think hard for when I'm planning my next date night!

Where is the sun?

Well this is a first. I'm writing in the morning. I typically do it at night when lots and lots of great things have happened throughout the day. Exaggeration? Okay maybe a little. Some great things do happen each and every day and its just a matter of whether I catch them.
So yesterday I visited this new gym that our friends have been raving about and would like us to join. I had been holding off because I really want Craig to join with me and with the training for the Ironman, we needed to stay where we were because there was a location close to his work that he could go during lunch. Now, that he is not training, we thought this is a perfect time. Let me tell you, they were not kidding about this gym. It was like a spa with waterfalls as you walk in. Crazy. The best part was trying to get a deal out of the sales rep. I know a girl that knows this guy that can hook you up! hahaha. As he's showing me around, he's slyly under his breath telling me about this deal he can get me. I was pretty funny considering its only a gym. teheheheh... It actually wasn't a terrible deal. The amount we had to put down for Craig and I was a little steep, so we'll see if it works out. Definitely a fun experience thought!
So then I get home and walk in the house and all I can smell is BBQ. I'm getting so excited because I'm thinking C-dub got home and thought to stop and get something for dinner. I walk outside and the smell is so strong. I'm looking around for Craig, and can't find him. So I walk over to the BBQ with a big smile on my face. I open it up... and....NOTHING. It turns out it was the neighbor. Poop! C-dub walks in from getting the mail and I give him a frown because I had gotten my own hopes up. He says that he smelled the same thing and that we needed to get in the car right now. So we went and got our own steaks and decided to BBQ. Of course my steak was the size of a finger, but it exactly what I wanted.
Last but not least, I've once again been banned from picking the Netflix. I mean, I really try to broaden our horizons if you will, but nope, I failed miserably. Last night, we got "Miss Potter" with Renee Zellweger. We made it through about 15 minutes before we decided this might be an "Alli" watch. tehehehe... Good thing Juno is on its way before I got banned from picking! I really should be skedaddling off to work.
Good thing that happened today/yesterday? I got my car back and checked out the fancy gym
Fun things that happened today/yesterday? Whenever Craig talks about certain things he gets this funny smirk on his face. I like to call it, his too cool face, but its this funny smirk and I'm always asking why he's smirking and his forever response is, I don't know what you are talking about. Well yesterday he was talking about the gym and he must have caught himself doing it, because I was looking at him, and then he made this goofy face. We both started laughing and were laughing the whole way to the grocery store. It doesn't sound funny, but it was if you would have seen this face!

Run to catch up!

So many things to catch up on. I can't believe I haven't had time to write in here. Time flies when you're having fun!

What have I been doing you ask? Well about a week ago we went to Arizona where Craig raced an Ironman. Or did an Ironman, or is an Ironman? Not sure how you say it, but when we left, he was an Ironman. Jolinda and Bruce flew out from Manhattan, and Brian, Beth, Lily and Emma all came to root him on too. Marco, Dave, Josh, Eric and Kevin participated. Josh did not finish because of the heat, but they all did a great job. Craig finished in 12 hours and 45 minutes. So damn impressive especially since it was in like 95 degrees out at 9:30. He really did show what he's made of.
Oh yeah, that's us at the finish. I love that he still has a sponge in his hat. Makes me giggle.
It was an interesting weekend that is for sure. Well the most interesting was sharing a room with the parents. I think I've hit the age when we just need to suck it up and get our own room. It really was fine, but definitely something to consider next time we're on a trip. After the race, we had the Monday in Tempe by ourselves. We had fun, we crashed the pool at this nice hotel and had ourselves some fun pool side drinks.

What else has been going on. Well we had a Room to Read function last week at D-street. I think it went pretty well. I definitely think we need to expand our reach and get some new blood to these things. But it was fun and we hung out with the San Antonios till the wee hours in the morning. We really hadn't done that in quite some time. I think all four of us needed it. As for everything else in my life, back to work and back to the grind. Today I decided to stop worrying about all the things I'm bad at. Time to concentrate on the good. Now I just need to figure out what those are. Part of the new leaf is to figure those out. Cheers to figuring it out!
Good things that happened today: Definitely figuring out that I concentrate on my bad things is a good thing. Fo Sheeeezy!
Fun things that happened today: My car was in the shop and they said it was going to cost a little under $400 bucks to fix it yesterday. Then today, they called and had another person look at it, and it turns out its over $100 buck less to fix. Giggah What? Love that! Oh and because my car was in the shop, the Craigerator picked me up after work and we went to dinner. Spontaneous!!! Love that too!
Peace out from Club Dub!

New Do

Okay, so I've purposesly decided that writing in this at work is a no-no, but I had to write a quick story because I can not believe it.

So last night I got my hair cut. No big deal right? You would think. So I come in this morning and go about my business. The executive assistant comes in... wait! You should have a little background about this woman. She keeps this department running. She is very generous and always takes care of everyone. She is very nice. She is also from New Orleans. She has big hair, tattooed lips and eye brows and always has her makeup to a "T".

Alright, so as of today I've lost 15 pounds in about 6 weeks. I don't really notice too much but this everyone else around me is. So with that being said I shall continue on.

I'm going about my business when this women comes in and sits right next to me. As she walks in she say... Did Alli get a new do? I smile and say yes. She is smiling and says, a new do, a new body, a new you! A new do, a new you. I laugh and smile and say I guess so. I sit at my desk when the big boss walks in from being out of the office for the past week on business. We all continue on with our morning, when he walks out of his office to say something to the woman. Me, being me, interject a small comment about something, where he smiles and agrees. It was then that she decides to say. "Did you see Alli's new hair do?" Okay, so a little embarrassing because this is the big boss and well I like to keep things professional and he's not really a conversationalist. He also has only sons and so I think he's a little uncomfortable about stuff like that. Girly stuff! Anyways... she follows up that sentence with this one. "A new do and a new body. Doesn't she look good" Okay. STOP RIGHT THERE! Did she just say that to my boss? Oh my god, she did. He's uncomfortable. I'm uncomfortable. He says, yeah that is great! Good answer I guess. So now I have to respond... oh man... so I say "Be the brand right?" All I could think of. I'm so embarrassed. I can't believe it. I just keep looking at the computer and convince myself that its all going to be over soon. He then walks back into his office and she walks over to my desk to whisper "You have to point those things out to men. They need direction" Well that would be good if he was a man. He's my boss that just happens to be a man. Oh man, I'm so embarrassed... Please let this day go by fast. Good thing there was someone else here that heard the whole thing. She told me I handled it good. So here is to a good Thursday morning. uggg.

Pretty in pink

As they say in Mexico, ahye ahye ahye! That is how I feel today. Whirlwind of emotions for sure today. There are ups there are downs. And then there are pink toes!
I was about to start the sentence off... "Work is..." and then I realize, I talk way too much about work. BORING. Work should not define a person. Maybe just shape them a bit. And in my case, let's hope a lot. The weigh in was less than I would have wanted today, but still less. Its was that darn vodka roulette I bet! The gift that keeps on giving. Never again.

Okay, moving on. Ahh.. the two-pher
Good things that happened today? Well the numbers today were unbelievable. Scott even emailed from Vevey wondering if the numbers were an April fools joke. When the numbers are good, it makes my job that much easier. Ahhh, April fools. Today was the first time in I do not know how long that I didn't play a joke on anyone. What else was good today? Oh yes, my trusty friend Golden Spoon. The perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter cup, and the best part is that I didn't fall "off the wagon" if you will. All part of the plan! YES! That is a good thing.

Fun things that happened today? Pink toes. Definitely FUN! April fools. Although no jokes were had, I do love the day. Oh I read that they cast the first person in the 90210 spin off. Whoo, that is way fun.

Hey, did you know that dogs get sore too? I mean I guess intuitively it makes sense, but seeing as they don't talk or do sign language, it never really occurred to me. Yesterday was the first time since the changing of the clocks to daylight savings that I had the chance to take Caddie girl to the lagoon. Oh man, she ran and ran and swam and ran. It was about 45 minute till she took a breather. I let her rest while I did a little stretching and yoga on the sand. I then threw the balls a few more times and then we were done. Later that night, Craig asked if Caddie was limping. Under further investigation, we realized she was just walking kind of stiff. So we figured she was just tired. So this morning we went through our typical routine. Ask the dog up on the bed for some morning hugs and rubs and she barely made it up. I had to pull up the rear. If you know what I mean. She was sore, my poor baby.

Ahh, your first taste of a good story, but that just happens to be long winded. Well its late and the family is already asleep. Good night!

Say No To Vodka Roulette!

Man, the weekend is over. Back to work and back to the stress.

All I can say today is that Vodka Roulette is the worst game ever created! Yesterday we watched Chad race the half ironman in Oceanside. He did great! Everyone came over after the race for a BBQ. It was so much fun. First party of the season. I know I sound like Wedding Crashers, but its true. We weren't expecting to have a party so soon. I kind of wanted to have the house looking better, but it was just some close friends and they don't care. Anyways, as the night goes on, someone had the brilliant idea that vodka roulette would be fun. Ummm... i'm here to say that it isn't. I drank every time! So needless to say the night ended when Neighbor, Steph and I jumped into the pool. Yowza.

Today was a treat, Miss Celia and Shawna came down and hung out for a few hours. We went to lunch along with Mrs. Andrew (double A) and caught up a bit. Celi is really cute and a bundle of energy. Its fun how much she looks like Michael.

As for me, the weekend is over and there is still some laundry to be folded. So I suppose I should get in gear. Oh, my two and two!

A good thing that happened today? Well seeing Shawna and Celia are definitely my good things!
A fun thing that happened today? Okay, so its kind of fun. At least for me. I got a few hours out in the garden, and ran across one of the biggest bugs I've come across in real life and rather than kill it I just moved it to the hill. Man, I could see its eyes... it was really big. Oh and I discovered that we have a bird nest under the roof of our house. I'm not sure if that's bad or good, I would imagine it not bad like a wasps nest. But I could hear the little chirps. FUN!

Wow Wednesday

Thank goodness for OTB (over the bump) day!!! I can't believe how fast the time flies. Work has been so crazy this week. Although its good half the team is in Hawaii on the shoot, so I could try and get some stuff done.
Good things that happened today? Shawna told me that her and Celi are coming down for a visit this weekend. I'm excited. Oh and I ate sushi. LOVE IT! Oh, it was a really good makeup and hair day. That's always a good thing.
Fun things that happened today? We launched the JC facebook application. That's fun. I met up with my friend Jen which is fun since I don't get to see her that often. I ate sushi. I guess that should be more fun that good, although its good!!! Oh yeah, well I guess it was yesterday but after I was on here, my fantabulously charming dog got her hair did and she looks like a totally different puppy. Soo funny. I woke up this morning to see her funny little face, which is definitely fun.
So we're trying to plan our trips and vacations for the summer and we're having a hard time nailing things down. Although it looks like we have our plans for father's day weekend planned. There is a secret involved, or else I would let you know. If you're interested, I can totally tell you. I'm excited about my trip up the coast. I've been needing some time in the trees. Should be just what the doctor ordered. Alright, the Craigerator is calling my name. Trees are cool.
Ciao~

Too Much Tuesday

First things first. Weigh-in (-1.8) in 4 days! Whoooh! Its getting easier these days. I still have my moments, but it is getting easier and easier as the weeks go on.
Today, I had too much to tackle. There comes a point when you can only do what you can do. Today was one of those days. It will be there tomorrow!!! Yowza.
Good thing that happened today?
I slept in, but just long enough to not have to rush around. I was able to eat breakfast and enjoy my morning.
Fun thing that happened today?
Steph got an email from the woman that taught our golf class this weekend. This was the same woman that in order to show her karate/defense moves used me as a dummy. Both Steph and I had a chuckle at how she had no trouble bending my arms in ways that brought me to the ground and moves that could break a body part. That was fun. I should be a dummy more often.
I'm excited for girls night this week. Definitely needed!
Ciao for now!

Hello! Bonjour! Ciao! Namaste!

Welcome to my blog. Today is a first for me. I'm a blogger! YAY!

Today is Jennifer's Birthday too! Happy Birthday Jen!

I'm so happy to have finally started a blog. I have great potential for this. Even if I'm the only one that ever reads it! I am so excited.

Those of you that know me, know that I love telling stories. Okay, I'm not very good at them, but hopefully they will come across here as funny as they happen.

Alli - Around the World is open for business!

Cheers!
